This week Chamberlain Antiques LLC is very pleased to offer a very important collection of Asian antiques and works of art for auction. The quality of this collection is of amazing quality with some very important examples. All items in this collection will be listed for an opening bid at $9.99 with no reserve.
This auction is for a very unusual and large Chinese porcelain vase dating to the late 18th or possibly early 19th century. The vase is finished with a rich Langyao or oxblood glaze around the entire exterior. What makes this vase so unusual is that it has been hand painted with a large group of polychromed figures around the outside as well as on the neck of the vase. It is very heavy and stands 15.5 inches (39.3cm) tall. Underside of the vase is unglazed and very smooth to the touch. It appears that there may have been some professional restoration to the neck of the vase but it is very difficult to tell. It displays beautifully as can be seen in the photos .
