I honestly truly think this fly case contains the finest, most impressive gathering of tied flies I have ever seen in one place. When the winner can see it in person they will just keep looking at each individual fly over and over because they are such unique, eye catching flies These are top of the line in terms of collectability and presentation of type, style, variation and evolution in the art of fly tying. Excellent examples of the classic and the obscure varieties of flies used in different regions, seasons and water bodies. They are older, one of a kind originals. Some major time and effort went into just one single fly. Many of them are super old, ancient antiques dating to the 1800’s. Most of them are very rare, highly detailed, exceptionally beautiful flies that were hand tied by some of the big name legends. Sadly, there was no tangible documentation accompanying the collection. There was no on card packaging, no handwritten statements, no receipts, nothing at all to individually identify the artist, date of origin or the value of each fly. Any information provided on this collection was given verbally. So I have no professional provenance, guaranteed grading or big money rarity promises to offer the winner. My hope is for the collection to either end up in the hands of a collector who will appreciate it as it is, no need for names and dates or an expert who will track the names and dates, discovering and documenting the history. The flies are displayed in one of the older metal Perrine fly boxes. It is marked Perrine #90 on one side and other side features “Knots All Fly Fishermen Use”. It has the old time version of the Perrine fish shaped logo. It also offers ” Automatic Fly Reels Guaranteed For Life!” The fly box measures about 4 x 6 inches.
