This is a wonderful little 2 section 6" folding Engineer’s sector rule in its original case, made from boxwood with brass fittings, made by Negretti & Zambra – widely considered as the finest manufacturer of scientific instruments in the world.
The rule is marked "NEGRETTI & ZAMBRA LONDON." This beautiful little rule has the usual sector measurements and scales on both sides and along the outer edges. It measures 12 inches when folded out, and folds up to a neat 6 inches for fitting inside the velevet and satin lined wood case with ornate clasps. It is wonderfully detailed, with scales for Inches, Poll scales, L S C, S T T and T, S and N – with a scale of decimals along the outer edge.
Condition: As you can tell from the pictures – both rule and case are great for age. There are no significant marks or chips – NO previous owners marks anywhere on this rule – check the supersize pictures for condition . Just a few stains from the years. Joint as firm and secure as when first made. Both holding pins remain. Someone has used a lot of red pen with this rule – but this will come off if the buyer wants to clean it.
As with all my items, this will be securely wrapped to get to you in the present condition.
