L’Aiglon

18k yellow gold Hunting Case
This is a RARE Pocket Watch Brand.
{ L’Aiglon was Napoleon’s son’s name, Napoleon II. It means “the Eaglet”. }
I haven’t come across another one in my 35 yrs as a Jeweler and Watch Collector.
I, also, have not been able to find any information on it on the Web.
Here is the info from the watch itself.
The outside of the front lid is beautifully hand engraved with the letters “AS”.
Inside of that same lid, plus inside the movement cover (lid), is a Sunburst over a Cross with 18K inside the Sheild
The numbers, 579 is stamped near the bottom of the front lid
and
the numbers, 57579 is stamped inside the movement cover (lid).
The rest of the info is visible in the pictures
including 2 dings (or dimples) on the front lid and one on the back.
There is a minor dent on the outside rim between 5 and 6 O’Clock.
The overall diameter of the watch is 50 mm (1 15/16″)
The movement diameter is 40 mm (1 5/8″)
The gross weight is 43.4 dwt (67.5 gr.)
