Sterling Silver Lady’s Corkscrew

* Hallmarked 1899
This elegant
ladies corkscrew has
an ornate sterling silver handle embossed on both sides with scrolling
floral motifs and the top has an openwork lattice design.
The fluted steel worm has its
original sharp
point and no rust or damage.
The
silver is marked with the English Sterling hallmarks for Birmingham
1899. It also has the
maker’s mark for Levi & Salaman. The silver is
in with no dents or
other damage. It measures 5 1/8″ long and was probably once part of a
ladies dresser / sewing set. Medicine
and perfume
bottles in the 19th century often were sealed with corks.
