Here we have a seldom seen 1960 Trend six transistor radio. This rare beauty features a virtually flawless jet black case, silver face plates with a gold round grill, two thumbwheel dials, and excellent performance.
What a cool design on this rarely seen transistor radio! The ‘V’ shaped emblem on the top, coupled with the silver front and round gold grill, is reminiscent of car styles from that era. Both the silver face plates, and the gold grill, are perfect and free from any dings, dents or pitting. All lettering on the front of the radio is legible and shows no signs of wear. The jet black plastic case is in exceptional shape, virtually flawless. The radio also features a chrome kickstand on the back so it can stand on its own.
The two thumbwheel dials, located on the right side of the radio, are in perfect shape. The gold housing surrounding the dials is an elegant touch. The front dial controls tuning while the back dial controls the on/off and volume. The dial scale is located right in the middle of ‘V’ emblem. All numbers on the scale are legible and show no signs of wear.
The electronics have been gone through and the radio picks up many stations on the AM band with excellent volume. The radio uses a 9 volt battery. A new one will be included with the sale.
