This is a 1926 Mills Target Practice Trade Stimulator, Diamond model. It was probably used in a bar for many years, it has had a lot of use.

Here is a link to a fully restored model in the National Arcade Museum.
My machine still has the license for the city of Glendale, California. The fee was paid sometime in the 1930’s.
It still works great. Use as is or restore to original condition. The people I got this from said it sat in their den for decades.
Problems: no key, no coin drawer, no back and no aluminum base. Someone put on a 2 x 8 for a base and the game rocks back and forth a bit because the base has a little bow in it. All the mechanisms work. The plunger at the top is to release "winning" coins into the coin drawer. It works, but all the moving parts just need to be lubricated or refinished for it to work smoothly.
This link will tell you how the Mills’ trade stimulator worked. I do not just want to copy his writing. His model is the more common "Olympic" model. I see very few of the "Diamond" models. You will notice his asking price is quite high. http://www.timepassagesnostalgia.com/&searchkeywords=target+practice+trade+stimulator&sis=1&rdir=1
