Impressive Solid 14k Gold Art Deco Tona Hunter Pocket Watch, Serviced
Description
This solid 14k gold Tona pocket watch is in good running order and keeping time. I have had it professionally serviced.It has no material issues of which I am aware, except as noted below. Tona might have been a Hoeter & Cie. brand, such as was Teutonia.
Circa: 1930s
Case: Unsigned fancy 14k solid gold hunter case without any dents, serial number 249,355/60. The case bears what I understand to be Swiss, German, Russian, and Polish solid 14k gold hallmarksThe bow is stiff. The inner cuvette is not solid gold.
Size/Weight: 50 mm (about 2") in diameter, not counting stem, crown, and bow. The case is about 10 mm thick. The watch weighs 75.8 grams.
Dial: Seemingly original fancy art deco dial in .It has sub seconds and applied gold Arabic numerals. It is signed Tona 2xG.
Hands: Seemingly original gold-plated open diamond hands, in good condition. The hour hand has lost some of its plating.
Crystal: Plastic, in very good condition.
Movement:Signed Tona likely 15 jewel, Swiss gilt lever movement with micrometer adjustment. I understand that the movement ebauche was made by Fountainmelon.
Winding/Setting:Pendant wound and set.
