Exquisite antique 1800’s mourning dress cape.
This beautiful Victorian piece features four rows of wide black Chantilly lace. The neckline is hand beaded with rows of jet glass beading. The collar is a fine scalloped edge Chantilly lace with unusual leaf pattern. The cape is entirely lined in a thick early fabric. This is entirely sewn by hand…a work of art….so much prettier in person! The following flaws are noted: The Chantilly lace aroud the neckline has quite a bit of tearing and is very fragile…but it is original to the piece. There are some net holes to the wider Chantilly especially along the lower border. This is a lovely display piece, but you will need to do some lace restoration if this is something you plan to wear. Being sold as-is….this is an 1800’s Victorian piece of clothing~!

Around neckline: 20 inches
Mid back to lower lace: 18 inches
Approximate shoulder to shoulder 18 inches
