ITEM DESCRIPTION
A fine & large antique 19thC Indo-Persian Islamic Dhal shield of unmarked “white metal”, silver or silver-plate, with Islamic calligraphy text & floral panels around the centre having four large dome boss’ with sailing ship & centre “wheel of life” engraved design. The interior of the shield is lined in silk with padded hand guard & having arm supports with original metal ring lugs intact & secure. (c.1850-1900)
