EARLY EX. LARGE ANTIQUE 17 ” PUMPKIN WOODEN~OUT OF ROUND~WOOD~BOWL W/RIM-REPAIRS
This auction is for a wonderful old
" Out of Round" chopping~butter bowl.
This is another of my favorite colors in bowls! It has a beautiful pumpkin/ orange painted back and has a great distressed appearance, and is a good thick heavy bowl.
It has several areas that drew my attention to collecting it. There are several old splits in the bowl that have been repaired with a rusty wire, one of my favorite things! A couple of other splits look like they were repaired with out the wire. The bowl is very stable and these just add a great primitive character to it. The rim also has worn down areas, really reflecting the years of age and use.
The inside shows the appropriate wear for it’s age and adds quite a bit of character. It was stained and sealed a very long time ago, so it’s food safe. It has a very large 1 1/2 inch rim, and a small hole for hanging.
The bowl measures 16 – 17 inches "out of round" and is approx. 5 inches deep, with a nice warpy and out of round
