This is a wonderful antique sterling purse. My mom collected them and I will be listing a few of them. I am not a purse collector so please rely on the photos for the main description. There are a lot of photos. My mom put a paper inside that said London Chester B 1902 so I believe that’s what the British hallmarks mean. The marks are worn from years of polishing but can still be read. The first letter of the maker is worn but the second letter is an M so maybe a British hallmark researcher will be able to figure out who the maker was. The clasp is secure and the frame is heavy and pretty thick. The decorative front is beautifully done. The center cartouche has not been engraved. There are a couple of bumps but nothing detracting. The purse is much prettier in person too. The photos are kind of flat looking and don’t show the true beauty of this antique silver purse. The attachment of the material to the silver frame looks like it was all hand done. The fabric looks to be in good condition and the purse is still usable or it will make a make a nice addition to a person who collects them.
