This is a bentwood oak measure with bail handle and wooden hand grip in great dry red paint. The red base is attached to the body with square nails. The bentwood is held with 9 over-painted brass brads (originally 10; one is missing). The interior is a dry black stain. The entire piece is solid. Measures 9-1/8 inches in diameter, at top and bottom, 5 inches high — 10-1/4 inches with bail extended. The bentwood overlap is a generous 6 inches, indicative of an early piece.
