Very good condition vintage wooden shaft right handed golf
club. This is an old pretty face driver
brassie. No cracks to head, neck, or
shaft. Very attractive fancy faced club
in the bulldog style. Head and shaft
stamped for the retailer ‘A.L. Johnson.’
Looks like a Spalding make, but I’m not positive. The sole is quite rounded and the club face
is quite deep. Face insert is flush and
held tight with its original 9 wooden dowels.
Face is also with a good loft to it. Nice brass sole plate is still extremely well
seated with a honey patina. Leading edge
shows just some very small play nicks. Period
leather wrap grip is intact with intact whippings and over fat underlisting. Wooden shaft is without chips or cracks and
remains straight. Shaft is almost
certainly an original. 41 7/8 inches in
total length. Very solid playable
club. Head with good weight and shaft is
