This quilt is simply amazing! It smells like candy, it's the softest quilt I have ever had or sold or seen. Fluffy REAL cotton batting the last picture will show it up to the light, I was looking for the cotton seeds but didn't see any. I would date this quilt to the early to mid1900's approximately 1920's to 40's. The fabrics used were feedsacks and mens dress shirts, in a tumbling block patchwork pattern. I can't emphasize enough how fluffy soft and FRESH this quilt is, the owner took such good care of it through the years. When a quilt of this age has only a few small areas where the stitching is loose about 1/4" please see the pictures. It really smells like candy and is as soft as the softest fluffy cotton towel you have ever wrapped yourself in. If you have ever had sheets off the clothes line and were washed in the best fabric softener then you know what I'm talking about, and just in time for Spring! This was a very much loved and cared for quilt. I love quilts and when I see one such as this it is a real must have quilt. Perfect for the cottage shabby chic look or the Spring /Summer quilt at the end of the bed for those need a fresh quilt nights we seem to have in the Spring and Summer.
The dimensions are 86" long by 70" wide, I'm letting this quilt go at 1.00 NO Reserve like many of them I've been collecting as I travel from estate sale to estate sale. I try to buy the very best I can find, I have a real weakness for quilts and in fact when I see the work that each one of them has and the history that goes with them I can't resist!
