Offered for auction today with a low starting bid and NO RESERVE, is this very nice vintage patchwork and applique quilt. Consists of 20 blocks, measuring about 17″ square. The overall dimensions are 70″ x 86″ approximately. This is a summer quilt as there is no inner padding. The two sides of the quilt are sewn together on the binding and each block has embroidery cross stitches sewn through both layers in the middle circle of the pattern. No signature or date was found. The colors are muted pastels, possibly faded by time and laundering. I estimate the quilt most likely dates from the 1930’s. The pattern is typical dresden plate with the pattern outlined with black embroidery cross stitch. The condition is good with no rips, holes or tears. There are only several small stains. (see photo) The backside is plain with a pinkish hue. Great price!
