We have for your viewing and
bidding pleasure an antique and/or vintage aeronautical hardback
bound book. The book is CHARLES A. LINDBERGH, SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS,
BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA and Airplane related. The book is titled The
Lone Scout of the Sky authored by JAMES E. WEST (who was a Chief
Scout Executive). The book was published for BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA By
The JOHN C. WINSTON CO., PHILADELPHIA. The book has a copyright date
of 1928 and is the STORY OF CHARLES A LINDBERGH. On the Title Page it
states that the book contains COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE A
FLYING MODEL OF THE SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS. Next to the Title Page is a
Frontispiece with a picture of a Boy Scout painted by Norman
Rockwell. We have photoed the front and back outside covers and
binding edge, the “BE PREPARED†page by CHARLES A. LINDBERGH, the
Frontispiece, Title Page, The Contents pages, List of Illustrations
pages and several other inner pages to give interested parties some
idea of the content and condition contained within the book. The book
has 275 pages with none of them loose, missing or torn. Pages 227
through 230 are bend being they are larger than the normal pages in
this book because there are 2 illustrations, the SIDE and FRONT
ELEVATION for making the model airplane. We did not get this photoed.
Obviously these photos are just a small amount of content in the
book. The title page has some number stamping, a library stamp and 5
check marks on the upper right hand corner with a ¼†tear on the
right border edge. The pages have some age discoloration that are
mostly confined to the border edges. The corners are somewhat bumped
and show a little wear. The spine is tight. The binding is just a
little tad bit loose at the top. The binding outside edge shows a
little wear on the top and bottom. We are listing this highly
collectible, historical and aeronautical book at a no reserve selling
