A beautiful vintage art deco duette
brooch in solid silver and encrusted with individually set genuine
sparkling marcasites; a still camera can’t capture the glistening beauty of
these stones which are often referred to as “Black Diamonds”. Each dress clip is marked to the reverse for 935 grade silver; a higher grade than Sterling 925, and a poular grade of silver used on the continent. When worn as a
brooch the two dress clips neatly slot in to the brooch mount which is fastened
with a hinged pin and a safety trigger clasp; assembled, it measures approx
2.3/8″ x 6/8″, (60mm x 19mm). Dress clips and brooch mount are all in excellent
condition with minimal signs of wear commensurate with age; when viewed through
a jewellers loupe I can see that there’s one marcasite missing, (not
noticable to the naked eye but mentioned here for total
accuracy).
All-in-all,
a stunning and very wearable piece of genuine art deco jewellery, that
would enhance any collection of vintage jewellery.
