This auction is for a golden and delicate, filigree dangle necklace, that is from the late Victorian or Edwardian era c. 1910’s.
This piece has a beautiful golden finish but it does not test positive for gold or silver content. The necklace measures 15″ long with the pendant dropping another 2 1/4″ below that. The necklace is very thin and delicate so the piece is quite light in weight. The necklace closes securely with its original spring ring clasp. The necklace has finely made filigree links that are accented with amethyst glass cabochons. The central stone measures 9mm in diameter and the smaller stones at the bottom graduate slightly in size which is a subtle but nice design detail. The amethyst stones are open at the back and faceted on both sides so they have a lot of light and refraction. The pendants at the bottom dangle freely which gives the necklace a nice amount of movement when worn. There are no chips to the amethyst stones, just a little bit of surface wear, and they sparkle brightly with fresh faceting. The gilt finish is very golden and fresh looking without any dulling or surface wear. Overall this is a golden and delicate, filigree dangle necklace, that is from the late Victorian or Edwardian era c. 1910’s that is in Excellent condition.
