There is no reserve on this unusual item.
Here we have a tip or change tray from the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific
Exposition of 1909. Items from this World’s Fair are quite scarce. This little
tray may be brass as I couldn’t get a magnet to tug on its surface. It is round and in the shape of a state
seal. It features three women
representing Alaska, the Yukon, and Asia. Each is dressed in appropriate
clothing and appearing in front of a typical scene. Asia and Yukon are seated in front of trees
and Alaska has a mountain with a golden sunrise behind her. Each one holds a
different item, a steam ship, a locomotive and a handful of gold nuggets. These
three Graces represent the direction of Seattle’s ambition, North West and
East.
This lovely little tray is quite heavy and measures 3 ½â€. It is in with no dings or
dents. We think it would be a great addition to any collection.
