Antique Radio Tuner Trainer, from a Radio Program Pre EE Days

Antique This auction is for an Early 1900’s University Radio Program, handbuilt, Receiver Trainer Set.  I do not know if the instructor worked for General Radio [they were back east; he was out west]- But look at it and you can see why GR comes naturally to mind!
It features a Tunable Capacitor, a Tunable Inductor [Beautifully wound of Litz wire on Brass Slides!] and a handmade Rheostat for filament voltage variations [Sensitivity, if I recall].  Immaculately done, the box looks to be of stained mahogany, the faceplate of ebony with lathed knobs to boot.  Just add a DeForest Triode and Voila!
There is a cracked area to the lower left on the ebony front panel; Not sure when this happened, I got it from the basement vault from the local University during the EE program’s building remodel.  It is an amazing bit of Radio History, however;  I can safely say it is One of a Kind.
It will ship snugly in a padded box, that is packed snugly inside another padded box, as I worked for UPS and know how to keep them from destroying items no matter how hard they try. [Hint- allow 6 inches on a side with plenty of soft, shock absorbent padding, in structurally supported boxes]- So- check the shipping information link to avoid any surprizes, please.
We accept paypal only- consider this before you bid, as well as the shipping notice, above.
