I had the opportunity to sell this lamps near pair last month and am proud to be able to offer this one as well. This is a genuine Tiffany Studios table lamp. It is signed on the bottom of the base and reads (Tiffany Studios/New York/587) (Picture # 11). The shade is also signed on the inner rim and reads “Tiffany Studios New York 1493.” (Picture 12) This is an example of when pictures simply cannot cut it. The quality of the colors brought out of the shade are not capable of being captured accurately. There are three minor hairline cracks in the shade each less than a quarter of an inch wide and are located near the top of the shade. These can be seen in pictures 5 & 6. The shade is a geometrical pattern and is 20″ in diameter. The difference is color between when the lights are on and off is staggering and I thought I would let you see as well. Browns and near purples, turn into a brilliant sunburst orange that slowly transitions into a yellow as you go down the shade. The base is a Turtleback design. It stands 25″ to the top of the finial. The green is prevalent in this base. This base has not been polished or cleaned. Two sockets are for sure original. One socket is possibly replaced, but I believe it to be original as well. I say this because the aging seems to be behind the other sockets. This could possibly be due to how and where the lamp has been placed over the years. I believe that this lamp has been rewired at some point, but it was done correctly as the wire is of the material and even the end plug is correct as to how this lamp would have been upon manufacture.
