This is an late 1800’s or early 1900’s Signed Oil painting on artists board of a group of much loved cats waiting for a cup of tea. the piece is mounted in a really nice Pine frame with gold paint and nice done floral border. The frame itself is a work of art, and it is in very good shape. Small gas in the corner, but no significant damage of any sort. The subject matter is really whimsical. Cats with bows watching what appears to be a very fancy teapot on a silver stand. Reminds me of the title of a movie that came out a while back, “Aristocats”.
The painting looks to have a shellac glaze over it which was common for art of that period. It is signed by T. Hansen and I have done research on the artist and there are T. Hansens out there but I am not sure if this one of the famous Hansen artists or not.
The frame measures 15 inches by 12, and the artwork measures about 10 inches by 9. Good size for that place on your wall that is currently devoid of art!
Thanks for looking and Happy websiteing!
