ANTIQUE ITALIAN MICRO MOSAIC PLAQUE OF A TEMPLE & FOUNTAIN NO RESERVE
Description
This listing is for a fine antique, circa 1920’s, framed Italian micro mosaic plaque. The plaque in its frame measures 9 ¼ by 11 inches or 23.5 by 28 cm. All of the decorative work on the plaque is made up of thousands of tiny pieces of glass that are arranged to create the image.
This plaque features an Italian landscape, with a Roman temple in the background and a large fountain in the foreground to the left. The mosaics are inlayed into a piece of carved black marble. The frame is carved wood with a dark brown patina. The frame has a wire hanger at the back.
The work is beautiful and exceptional. The micro mosaic has been laid with precision and has nice attention to detail. I will let the photos better explain what this truly beautiful mosaic plaque looks like.
The condition overall is excellent.
