Beautiful antique Elgin Hunters Case pocket watch. The watch is not working, had someone look at it and they said it had a broken main spring. Watch is gold filled, front and back have highly stylized design. Front has script style engraved initials, can’t quite make out what they are! Back opens to a second cover, then the actual movement. First back is hallmarked “Keystone Watch Case Co., #7887848,” second cover on back is hallmarked, “Guaranteed, J Boss, 20 years Co., #7887848.” Movement is hallmarked Elgin National Watch Co. USA, 15 jewels. It is numbered #13159549. The lip of the case holding the movement is numbered #87 8 48.
The front cover is numbered #7887848. The porcelain dial is excellent, no cracks, no spider lines. It has Roman numerals, and blueish hands including the seconds clock. I believe this is a S12, not sure, the movement measures a little under 1 1/2″ across. Case is awsome, would make great watch once repaired.
