Rare antique Chinese late Qing / Ch’ing Dynasty silk brocade mandarin’s semi-formal court robe (Ji-Fu), featuring the 8 golden 4-claw dragons, 4 lions and numerous other auspicious symbols against the blue ground. The sea waves are decorated with large flowers. Fully lined with light fabric. The horse-hoof cuffs are lined with light blue brocade fabric.
Late 19th to early 20th century.
Condition: Generally good condition, signs of wear, areas of thread losses, pulls, splits, weak fabric and repairs. A rectagular portion of the inner flap was cut out. A plastic pouch with blue fabric (most likely the cut-out portion) is attached to the lining.
Measurements: Cuff to cuff 216cm; armpit to armpit 66cm; collar to hem 135cm.Pant
