Back Bed and Marble Top Dresser in good condition made out of walnut from the
1860’s to 1880’s. The carvings on the head board are of different size acorns
and leaves. The foot board is a serpentine design with beautiful carvings. The
inside frame still has hooks where ropes were used. The bed and dresser have a
lot of fine details and embellishments. Bed -Headboard top to bottom 78″,
foot board-top to bottom 33 ¼ “, width 58â€. Bed takes a full size mattress.
Dresser is a marble top with two jewelry boxes attached (one on each side) of
mirror. The mirror is designed to swing or not swing and will detach from
dresser when moving. The walnut pull knobs are beautifully carved leaf designs.
There are three visible drawers. The fourth drawer is on the bottom and is a
hidden drawer. Both the head board and dresser have finials. The marble is very
heavy and takes two men to carry it. There is some brown spots on marble and will send picture if requested. The dresser is 49″ Wide by 101″ Tall.
I hate to sell this beautiful set since I live in a historical home built in
1910. But— my 95 year old mother-in-law has moved in and wants her own
things. I hope whoever gets it loves it as much as we do.
