Hand Painted Austrian Porcelain Covered Urn on Pedestal Base
Just bought this terrific, antique, Austrian porcelain urn in an unusual marbleized burgundy color. It features a very high quality painting of a young woman,
seductively but demurely smiling directly at you. This vase would date circa 1900 and combines Victorian and Art Nouveau elements. Condition is great, with only some rubbing
to the red and gilding. It is artist signed, lower right, the name appears to be Rosl or Rost with an umlaut over the “o” . On the bottom is the manufacturer’s mark in green that clearly
includes the word AUSTRIA.
on the high spots; showing through to the pure white porcelain.
