On May-01-12 at 00:17:30 PDT, seller added the following information: is an antique Asian drum which dates to shortly after the First World War. Based on the script on the outside of the wood, it is obviously Asian, but I have no idea if it is Chinese, Korean, or Japanese.
The main body of the drum is wood. Don’t know what type of wood, but it is fairly dense as the drum weighs close to two pounds. I am unsure of the material covering the top and bottom of the drum–perhaps it is some kind of leather. The drum stands around 7.5 inches tall, and measures 6.5 inches in diameter at either end.
Although the coverings are still fairly tight, they have apparently loosened a tad bit over the years and are not tight enough to produce quality percussion sounds.
The two attached rings are metal. mbr wc
