Antique Anglo Indian games box 25cm by 12cm and 7.5cm tall
The box contains a crib board with 8 pegs, two boxes each with a score counter lid with penwork decoration on both sides, two boxes each containing 3 penwork panels, two small boxes containing circular penwork decorated counters (I can only get the top counter out of the box). The main box shuts neatly when empty but will not closely fully when the contents are positioned inside (probably due to slight shrinkage of the wood over time).
The box is decorated in a shell veneer with decorative ox bone attachments. Overall the box is in very good condition but does need some repair work.
Some of the shell veneer and ox bone attachments have slightly lifted and need to be adhered. Some of the attachments have come off but there are 9 small bits that have been saved for repair. There is a small split to the shell at one end of the box. All of the sections are present on the crib board but some have come off and need to be adhered. All of the ox bone paw feet are present and attached by two screws but two of the feet have a screw missing.
