WALTHAM 18s CRESCENT ST. NON-MAGNETIC MOVEMENT
is a very nice 18s Waltham Model 83 Crescent St. pocket watch with the very desirable Non-Magnetic hairspring and escapement. It is offered here in a true auction with no reserve, but I also included a reasonable buy it now price which includes shipping in the continental US. These early model 83 Crescent St. movements can be very stunning and this one is no exception. The serial number is 5747068 and it is marked Crescent St. Waltham Mass. Non-Magnetic Adjusted. The high grade lever set hunter movement features gold jewel settings, gold balance screws and superb damaskeening. Although the movement runs in all positions, it is sluggish and should be cleaned if you intend to run it very much.
The double sunk enamel dial is still usable but it does have a few fine hairlines and a chip at the edge and smaller chip at the inner edge of the hour chapter ring.
Overall I would say it is a very nice movement with an average dial and hands, but ready for cleaning and a case. Please review the pictures and let me know if you have .
