This gorgeous antique toddler boy measures almost 21 inches long. Incised K (star symbol) R//SIMON & HALBIG//126//56, his large, character bisque socket head has a head circumference of just under 15 inches. Somewhat loosely strung to the original, bent-limb, German composition baby body, the only damage that I find with the head, is a tiny fleabite at the base of one of the bottom lashes of the right eye. Lightly soiled and without rubs, the head was otherwise manufactured with thick, feathered brows, painted lashes and sleeping brown glass eyes. Although the eyes have lost their real, applied upper-lashes, the original lid wax is intact. The face is additionally detailed with a ?celluloid wobble tongue and two top teeth. Sadly, the body has significant damage to three fingers of the left hand. Both hands are also soiled and there may have been a repair to the left forearm. Retaining the smooth, original paint otherwise, the body is realistically molded with exceptional detail. Ready for display, he is costumed in a real human hair wig and a modern one-piece outfit that is sure to get better with age. Possibly made from the hair of the original owner, the wig is sparse and very delicate.
