1930’s “Sunbeam” Antique Quilt ~ 12 SPI!

The sun has such a pretty quilt

Each night he goes to bed, It’s made of lavendar & gold,

With great long stripes of gold & red.

And bordered by the softest tints Of all the shades of gray.

It’s put together by the sky, And quilted by the day. Laura Coates Reed

Very nice antique quilt made in the 1930’s.  The pattern is called Sunbeam, and it’s made with 100% cotton, pieced completely by hand.  It measures 84″ x 69″.  Pretty “summer” yellow & country blue form the 20 sunbeam blocks & borders.  Each block measures 11″ & consists of 25 pieces.  It’s in very good condition with no rips, tears or holes.  I found only a couple very small stains & then a couple places where a blue thread & a red thread were caught between the top & the batting, not very noticeable.  You have to really be looking closely to see this.  I have pictured all of this for you.

Nice & even quilting in the 1″ grid designs in the white blocks.  Each part of the stars were quilted through 3 times, and a grid design in the centers of the stars ~ 12 SPI!

Such a cheerful quilt ~ great in a cottage-style setting!  Please take a look at the other quilts I have listed.  I’m always happy to combine shipping.

About Me: It all started when I was a little girl…. Gramma gave Mom a piece of Flow Blue that had been in our family then she would pass it on to me. Gramma knitted, crocheted, & quilted but being a “lefty”, I could never get the hang of knitting or crocheting so I learned to quilt & applique. My love of quilts & antiques comes honestly. I still collect but I’ve had to set new rules for myself… “If I buy one more quilt, one has to be sold”. There’s just not enough room anymore!

Four years ago I decided to leave a 25 year career in Human Resources Management & do something for myself… spend more time with family & friends, garden when this Ohio weather allows, & hunt for quilts, vintage clothing & hats, & other antiques.

Pictures can speak louder than words & are considered part of an item’s description. I try my best to describe my items accurately & take many photos of each item so you have no doubts about the item you are purchasing. Your overall satisfaction is extremely important to me; however if you have a problem, please contact me and I’ll take care of it. Full refunds will be given on incorrectly described items. The buyer is responsible for return shipping & any necessary insurances associated with that item.

I accept Paypal and can accomodate other payment methods as well if you just ask. Payment is expected within 3 days of the auction’s end but if something comes up; or if you know in advance that you need more time, please let me know.  Ohio residents:  I am required by law to collect sales tax from you.  In turn,  I have to pay the State of Ohio the amount you paid me.  I do not profit from this.
