For sale is an Antique Busch Rapid Aplanat No4 13″ Brass Lens For Wet Plate Camera. Serial number is 200252, lens was made in 1910. Engraved on barrel- “Emil Busch A-G. Rathenow Busch Rapid Aplanat F:8 No 4 Foc. 13 Ins 200252”. This is a sharp lens with good brilliance, suitable for landscapes, architecture, groups, portraits etc. Lens will cover 10×12 inches or more. Glass is a quadruplet, doublets in front and back. The glass elements are clean and clear with exception to few faint marks, considering its age of more than 100 years lens is in near pristine condition. The brass iris diaphragm open and close a bit tightly. Lens measures- 3¼ inch height; 2½ inch front dia; 55mm flange id. Lens comes with a brass mounting flange. Taking pictures with  old 100 years old brass lenses is certainly more exciting than the  common slr lenses.
