This is a very early patch or snuff box with a miniature painting of a lady goddess. It is created with natural wafer and shell and the rim around the portrait appears to be brass, unsure. Overall for it’s age, one age crack on the upper lid and staining to the interior. Measures approximately 2 inches in diameter by 3/4 inches tall. Very nice early box for the collector!
