is one of two different antique amber bakelite necklaces I will be listing. Both necklaces are the rare barrel type amber which are very long and getting very hard to find and very expensive. I have this one which is a cherry amber and another one I will be listing after this which is I believe is called butterscotch. The butterscotch one is 33 inches with huge amber beads. Both necklaces will be started at 9.99 for a 5 day auction so place your bids early. This auction is for a spectacular cherry amber bakelite necklace. It is very long measuring 29 inches. It has its original twist off clasp. The beads are a beautiful cherry color with a barrel type design. Each bead is hand knotted in between. The beads graduate in size. The largest center bead is 29mm by 21 mm or 1 1/8 inches by 7/8 inches, a tad over 3/4 inches. The smallest beads are 9mm by 7mm or 3/8 inches by 1/4 inch. The necklace weighs 62.3 grams. The larger beads in the center have a tiny bit of room in between the hand knots. It is only on the large center bead and the larger bead on each side of the center bead. It is very minimal a few mm on each side of the bead. The rest of the beads do not move as the knotting is on each sideand is tight. The string appears tight but they get very brittle over the years so it might need to be restrung in the near future. The orginal twist off clasp is tight with no cracks or damage.
