1938 Mills Horsehead Bonus 5c Slot Machine!

with NO reserve
is a very exciting and fun to play antique slot machine! This
machine was made by Mills Novelty and is called a Horsehead Bonus.
This 5c machine is all original and in perfect working order!

If you have never played a
Horsehead Bonus, then you are missing out. Along with the smooth
play of a 1930’s Mills slot machine, this one also has the really
cool BONUS feature. You will notice the unique letters at the top
right of the machine. When the entire word BONUS is spelled out the
machine will pay 18 coins out! This unique gimmick was made by Mills
to encourage players to play longer. The letters are raised by
hitting the corresponding letter in order on the first reel. These
letters are printed over the usual classic slot machine images.

Originally when this machine
came out, many operators disabled or removed the BONUS mechanism.
This was done because the extra mechanism was complicated for the
operators and would get out of sync, causing confusion with players
and frustrations with the operator. Today finding a Mills Horsehead
Bonus with the original complete mechanism is a real treat!

We have given this entire
machine a full tune-up and lubrication. We have tuned the BONUS
mechanism up as well, so you can be assured this machine plays
correct and smooth.

We specialize in selling top quality original examples and also
performing high end factory correct restorations on antique slot
machines.

repair or restoration, please call!

As you can see in the photos
above this machine is in wonderful original condition. The castings
are free of any cracks or breaks. They retain much of the original
factory brown wrinkle paint with yellow trim. All of the glass on
the machine is the original and in good shape. The factory acid
etched award plate is also present and in nice condition.

The oak cabinet looks great and is in great shape! As you can
see in the four photos above, the original finish is still very
nice. The Mills Novelty factory applied decal even looks good! All
the cabinet bolts are present and tight. The original vender cover
plate is also just where it should be. There are four small vintage
mounting holes, one on each corner of the wood base. These are
commonly found on 30’s era Mills slot machines and are hardly
noticeable.

The back bonnet is present and
free of any cracks or breaks. The original back door is in excellent
condition with Mills factory instruction sheet still attached
inside. Overall you just won’t find many original machines
better than this one!

Above is a close-up of the
serial number on the top casting. This number authenticates the
machine and also helps date it as well. The mark on the casting left
of the serial number is not a crack or break, it’s simply a scrape
in the metal.

The next photo above shows a
close-up of the lock and key on the back door. Like the rest of this
beautiful machine, the lock is bone stock original and marked Mills
Novelty Co. Chicago.

The last three photos above show the mechanism out
of the cabinet and the inside of the cabinet. The inside of the
cabinet is very clean and is just like it left the factory. We have
given both the escalator and jackpot a tune-up so you can be assured
they work perfect. Drill proof plating on the sides, slug box and
cash box are all present inside.

The mechanism, as mentioned above, has been given
a full tune-up. We made sure everything is working correctly,
including the BONUS feature. Also notice the factory original reel
strips are still on the machine and look great!

Nice and complete Horsehead
Bonus machines just don’t come up on the market often
.
If you have been looking for a high quality investment grade machine
that is also a lot of fun to play – this one is it!
