This is a really stunning and very large antique brooch which is made from gold-colouredmetal and features a gorgeous carved shell cameo. The cameo is beautifully carved and depicts Nike, goddess of Victory driving her chariot. The shell is not perfect (see photos) and there have been a couple of old repairs to the mount which are not visible from the front but the brooch looks amazing and is otherwise in good vintage condition. It measures 7.8cms by 6.5cms.
