This is a really beautiful vintage rosewood pepper mill made by Nissen of Denmark with a staved rounded base section and a tall slender stem. I would guess the mill dates to the 1960s or early 1970s. The base is marked “NISSEN DENMARK” and “US PATENT”.
The mill has a stainless steel grinder mechanism made by Peugeot (the base is stamped Peugeot Freres Lion) and a red plastic filler cap in the base. The grinding mechanism works fine.
The item is in lovely condition although the top part of the plastic filler cap is split and requires delicate handling!
The height of the mill is 19 cms (approx. 7 1/2 inches)
