today is a VINTAGE GOITE FLY FISHING REEL. It is old and dirty, but works. The round part is almost 5″, and has black fishing line on it. Made by GOITE, REAL REELS, MFG. COMPANY, BIRMINGHAM, MICH. The nut on one side does tighten down for the drag. I’m not an expert on fishing, but looks like a fly fishing reel, etc.
