This is a light weight, smooth silk from an antique Japanese boy’s ceremonial kimono. The silk is dyed and printed . This is awsome silk but is older and has a spot or two and a little yellowing. The color is fading a bit but I would put this in the taisho era which would make it 80-100years old and it is in stunning condition if you consider this. It is getting harder and harder to find these. We get the newer ones but these vintage and antique ones are pretty rare…though I did just pick up a few on my last shopping spree.
The silk goes together at the top if you iron it! I don’t do that!
You are 6 pieces sewn together that measure 37″x35″.
There is a lining on the back that I cannot remove without taking the panel apart. The lining is a light cream silk

There will always be pinholes from where the stitching has been removed (unless it says new) we check our fabric for stains and holes but as we have not yet fully come into our superhero powers, some may slip past us. But the kimono go through lots of people before we get them and they may smoke or use moth balls. (the people who have had the kimonos not the kimonos personally) We try to say if something smells bad but we may be slightly ammune living in the last bastion of smoker’s paradise and all.
