I endeavor to provide the most clear and descriptive photos of the exact item on which you will be bidding. The pictures speak with much more detail than I am able. Please use the zoom feature and enlarge the photo for examination. All flaws beyond usual wear will be noted. The condition grades below are provided for even further detail. Please note that the lenses and frame are graded separately as many of my customers shop for the frame and have custom lenses created by an optometrist. Please ask questions prior to bidding. I am very conservative with my grading. I want you to be satisfied, better, overjoyed with your purchase.

You will be very comfortable purchasing and wearing items graded Good or above.

Complete candor, transparency and
customer service are the hallmarks of my little shop. If you are ever
less than satisfied, for any reason, please communicate openly with me. I
offer a 14 day return policy without question. Your 5-Star feedback for me is highly valued. Formerly sold under the Seller ID: jmaddengross. Over 1200 respected sales with 99+% feedback rating.

Mint  Pre-owned. Very nearly perfect
condition. Only very slightly used. Signs of wear are visible with a low powered loupe. May be LNIB condition but not accompanied by the factory
box(es) or documentation. 98-100%Near Mint  Showing very light signs of wear visible to the naked eye. Consistent with very minimal use. Completely
original in every way. The item is working
near perfectly. 93-97%Excellent  Very little observable finish wear and possible fine scratching, perhaps
some light plating deterioration on metal parts. No major dents, dings, or other problems.88-92%Very Good  The item shows what might be considered
normal wear by a careful owner who wore it regularly.
A sound, attractive presentation
overall. Light exterior finish wear, light oxidation on metal parts, normal nicks and scratches,
light observable wear in most cases. No major problems or
issues… 83-87%Good  Nothing fundamentally wrong with the item,
though it has obviously been used. Definitely wearable.
77-82%Fair  Well used. Even an untrained eye could tell the item
is worse for wear. Some might call it rough. 72-76%
Poor For parts or reclamation projects. Shows abuse, requires service and/or restoration.
May have major cosmetic flaws or missing parts. A speculative piece – ‘fixer-upper’ would be too generous.
Not junk, but requires lots of work to be made wearable. 66-71%LNIB Pre-owned, yet is in perfect
condition. Accompanied by the factory box(es), tags and documentation.
No alterations from factory-delivered condition. I will buy this from you;)
The description will state one of the
grades set out above, or an intermediate grade. If the item does not
fall precisely into
one of the grades, I may use an intermediate indication
such as “Good +” and provide a description of why an intermediate
grade was used.

Most
of the items from my collection are 50 – 100 years old. I describe this
age as vintage. The term antique is reserved for items manufactured
prior to 1912. Due to the long life of these antique items, please be
more forgiving when applying these descriptors to antique items.
Purveyor of the finest antique and vintage opticks. Classic
