This is a Beautiful Verge Fusee, Pair Cased by Rob. Baxter, with a lovely pierced and engraved balance cock with floral designs housed in a Solid Silver British Hallmarked Leopards Head for London. It is chain driven, key wind and a key will be included. Inside the pair case has the service papers included by William Harrison – Hexham, UK.
This lovely verge fusee is Not Working. It is missing its hairspring and the balance staff is broken off completely. The rest of the verge is complete. The chain is fully connected and the watch will wind. All this watch needs is a hairspring and a balance staff and you will have a working verge fusee watch. I dont have these parts, otherwise, I would have replaced them.
It has a bull’s eye crystal, It has several hairlines around the dial and solid gold hands, the total outside size s 52ml. The button on the outside case fully works.
On the movement it reads Rob. Baxter. It has a beautiful balance cock which is engraved and pierced with floral designs. It is keywind and key will be included.
Rob Baxter is listed in the Redbook called Watchmakers and Clock Makers of the World. He circulated around 1876 – 1896.
