GENUINE c. 1880’s VICTORIAN ANTIQUE MINIATURE
This is an interesting and very unique item. It is artist hand-crafted, and I have never seen another one like it.
This is a genuine Victorian antique miniature of a sweet little rabbit in a boat. It is quite representative of the Victorian bucolic/sylvan “nature” motif very popular at the time. The boat is approx. 1″ in length and approx. a tad over 1/4″ in width (at its widest point). It appears to be composed of brass, with yellow and rose gold floral applique on one side of the boat. The use of these multiple metals is quite attractive and it has a lovely aged patina. Attached to the boat is a yellow gold chain that measures approx. 4 1/2″ in length. The chain has separated from one side (see photo) but is easily fixed. This miniature has amazing detail, and little if any wear.
This Victorian miniature has not been serviced, repaired or polished in any way: it has fine quality and very interesting detail and is in excellent vintage condition.
