We procured to absolutely huge old Victorian gold and turquoise rings from a Seattle estate, this year. Both were old turn of the century Nevada Turquoise mine gemstones in old Victorian mountings. Family heirlooms that were turned loose on the world and we were lucky enough to snatch them up.
This is the 2nd and last Victorian ring. The ring is a true finger or 2 full as it measures just over 1 inch long by just under 3/4 of an inch wide. Big thick 10k gold prongs hold the center turquoise securely in place and a hand crafted Victorian gold mounting holds the gem securely in place.
Nice Victorian scroll work on each side of the 10k gold band.
The band is a size 6-3/4, and can easily be resized. We will resize for a nominal fee.
The star of this show is the mammoth natural WHITE HORSE MINE TURQUOISE GEMSTONE. This big beautiful natural turquoise gem is 25mmby18mm in size and weighs approx. 30++ carats in weight. Nice big thick old cab.
The old White Horse Mine in Central Nevada is in Lander County which is home to many small turquoise mines. The White Horse mine was small and has been gobbled up by the Fox mine over the years. So the mine itself is depleted, but rare and valuable gems surface now and then, just like this big beauty.
This marvelous matrix free white Horse Turquoise gem is a green/blue color. Probably quite a bit lighter when originally cut and hand polished many many years ago. This ring has been in the family for over 70 years, and has resided in Northern Nevada, Lander County for most of that time. stones of this size from many of the early Lander County miens was probably commonplace during the turn of the century. Today they are non existent.
This treasured blue/green gem has no matrix and is simply one of the finest cuts of old turquoise you will ever see. Most of the early Lander County turquoise mines were little more than gathering stones from
the ground, with very little actual mining. Surface digging of only a few feet revealed nuggets and boulders with great turquoise ripe for the polishing. Many of the smaller miens in this part of Lander county had iron deposits that gave the turquoise a green over blue tint. The color that I have always regarded as true turquoise color.

The entire ring weighs 7.25 gram so 10k yellow gold and breathtaking natural American Turquoise.
This gemstone is Persian Grade turquoise.
