Antique Brass MS & NI RR Lock Padlock Michigan Indiana H.C Jones NJ Vtg
Here is an old brass padlock and key found in the back of an old toolbox recently, that I’m sure has not been touched in 40+ years. The key was found wired to the chain. Looks to be in complete and good condition. H.C. Jones Patent, Newark, New Jersey. Marked “MS & NI R.R.” .” Chain has a nice patina as well as the brass. The lock was found opened. I snapped the latch down with some force. The key turns and trips the internals, but the latch does not open. May need some oil or other- not sure. Key looks good and brass cover plate has a strong spring action.
