This prestigious and very grand Elgin BW Raymond 18 size lever-set antique swing-out pocket watch truly the perfect antique pocket watch, crafted in 1897 and built to last. Keeping excellent time and boasting his original glass crystal and minty double sunk enamel dial, this hefty Elgin is a necessary and stunning staple in any pocket watch collection. His beefy Silveroid case measures apx. 54mm not including the very prominent stem at the 12 o’clock posisiton, with gold-tone accent at the back of a very large onion crown and flexible bow. You will love the security and historic appeal of the secure swing-out style case and lever-set mechanism, which is set at the 2:00 position. You will find only minor surface scratching on this case and basic everyday wear on the treads inside. Hold this Elgin in the palm of your hand and you will feel a substantial, reliable weight as well as the satisfaction of holding a collectable piece of history for your own- you will be taken back in time to another era.
Serious collectors will be absolutely impressed with the minty condition of the original double sunk enamel dial and glass crystal- getting more rare these days to find the real deal! Opening the very secure swing-out style movement ticking away within the heavy case, you’ll find a wonderment of the late 19th century- ornately damasked full plate 17 jewel movement that is very clean and running accurately like the powerhouse Elgin engineered it to be! The movement is signed by Elgin and BW Raymond, and the serial number 7490986 places production at 1897.
