A quality antique native american or possibly inuit eskimo carving of a bear and buffalo. Carved from ox bone or similar material of animal origin. Very fine detail and clearly the work of a craftsman . Depicts a bear being charged by a buffalo. The seated bear with its paws trying to fend off the lean muscular frame of a chaging buffalo or bison. A very detailed carving , particularly the face and fur and the buffalo’s thin and athletic frame clarly showing the ribs and muscles. Unfortunately damaged with the tail and hind foot of the buffalo missing. However a quality antique carving executed with precision . No other damage – See photos. Approx 6.5″ long. NO RESERVE
