This perfume bottle charm is a classic example of
interpreting natural flower and bud forms as functional jewelry. This little treasure’s
top unscrews and may have contained an exotic scent. This flacon measures about
1?†in height and ¾†at the widest
diameter. The base is marked DANECRAFT STERLING. Inspired by Scandinavian Georg
Jensen, this Danecraft stylized design demonstrates a forward-thinking of mid-century
modernism.
The Danecraft company, located in Providence, Rhode Island
was founded is the mid-1930s. The roots of Danecraft can be traced back to Italy for several
centuries to the celebrated family name of Primavera. Danecraft sterling silver
jewelry is recognized for its superb quality of design and craftsmanship during
the post-war decades.
This charm is from the estate of Joan Munkacsi. Joan, of A
Charmed Existence, was an avid and extremely knowledgeable collector and
seller of vintage charms and charm bracelets. We miss her.
