This Scottish Arts & Crafts, lidded box / caddy? is made
of heavy gauge brass, and has a turquoise-glazed, ceramic ‘Ruskin stone’ inset into the lid. The four sides are
decorated with hand hammered repousse floral designs, and the box stands on
four triangular feet. The lid is hinged, and the interior is tin-lined.
Made at the turn of the last century, circa 1890’s.
Offered in good condition with no breaks or repairs. Minor age-related surface wear, and a very slight indented line on the lid and one side, as shown in the photos. Of
very solid construction, with perfectly aligned hinges and lid. Unpolished.
